The original sketch comedy
revue, Schadenfruede – a German noun meaning
“pleasure derived from the misfortune of others,” has an
open run at Chicago’s Heartland Studio Theater. The
frequently sold-out performances include music and
monologues, and new material is rotated in every week. Nick
Green of The Chicago reader writes: “Schadenfreude is
different. Like the best of Monty Python's Flying Circus and
Mr. Show, this evening of sketch comedy draws on the
absurdity of everyday interactions for its humor rather than
the usual scatological or pop-culture references. It doesn't
get much better than this.” For more info, visit www.schadenfruede.net
